Photo© Sugino KeiBuilt on the small triangular site adjacent to the protective forest of the traditional shrine, this building opens its forest facing south and east aspects while it closes its main facade and north aspect by the steel sheet, with the ventilation opening, to maintain the residents’ privacy. With a view for the residents to experience nature in depth, living and kitchen area is lifted on the 1F next to the upper terrace, obtaining the view of the surrounding forest. With this communal area in middle, the space-bordering stair connects the lower & the upper levels, where the 1F consists of bedroom & the earthen floor including the atelier, and the 3F contains the private room.
